Hollon HS-510E 1 hour fireproof home safe review
Hollon HS-510E 1 hour fireproof home safe
Hollon has announced a new reasonably priced UL rated 1 hour fireproof home safe, the Hollon HS-510E. It features an electronic keypad locking mechanism, which accepts a 3-8 digit code for granting access to the safe. The keypad can be programmed to accept 1 master and 1 user code. The keypad is powered by 4 AA batteries. Other features include seamless construction of the body and door — this eliminates the weaknesses (welded seams) associated with safes that use seams. The HS-510E comes with 1 removable shelf. It features 2 active locking bolts plus 2 fixed bolts on the hinge side. The safe has 1 anchor bolt hole drilled in the bottom, and comes complete with mounting hardware. The HS-510E also features true seamless construction — it is constucted using one solid steel outer layer, 1 solid steel inner layer, and an in between layer of concrete-like fireproofing material which allows the safe to pass the tough UL 1 hour fireproof rating.
The UL 1 hour fireproof rating sets a higher standard than other ratings. It requires that the safe pass a test where the safe is subjected to an 1850 degree F fire for a period of 1 hour, and that the temperature inside the safe does not reach above 350 degrees F. At this temperature, your papers and other small valuables will remain safe in the event of a fire. The HS-510E measures 19″ x 13-1/2″ x 15-3/4″ on the outside, and 14″ x 8-1/2″ x 11-4/5″ on the inside. For more information about the Hollon HS-510E, and details on where to buy, visit the following link: Hollon HS-510E UL rated 1 hour fireproof home safe.
