Republic Gun Safes

Republic Gun Safes:

Review of the Republic Gun Safe Series.  This is one of the highest quality gun safes I have come across in any price range.  I have seen similar models selling at double to triple the price from other brands.  Made from 8 gauge steel with an extra plate ¼ inch thick welded to and covering the entire door. Talk about excellant pry bar resistants.  The door has a nice heavy solid feel when you open it.  Considering just the ¼ inch plate alone is the equivalent to 3 gauge steel but weld it on top of 8 gauge and it is one of the thickest doors in the industry!  I’ve seen other brands that are only 12 guage and they seem like toys in comparison.  There is nothing toy like in the 10 solid steel bolts at 1.5 inch thick and I don’t ever see anyone getting into the safe with a pry bar, crow bar, fire axe, or sledge hammer.  Very unique electronic keypad lock also comes with two high security double bitted override keys. Yes, I said over ride keys. This is one of the only electonic locks in the industry to be built this way.  I have been waiting for a company to come out with this because customers have been asking for this feature for years. The keys are designed to be resist lock picking against theft and the keyhole is hidden. I would also like to point out that the pictures on our website don’t do these safes justice. They are much better in person and when I show it to someone they admit that these are a lot of safe for the money and better than most safes that cost twice as much. I am giving these my “Most Favorite Gun Safe” award status.  Check out some of the features below.

  • (3) Small Adjustable/Removable Shelves

The Republic gun safes also have a upgraded interior liner that is tan in color.  The interior of a gun safe doesn’t matter much when you buy it. But it does matter years down the road.  The motor may keep going but if its a poor quality interior it will look it on the inside and before long you will want a new car.  Consider the fact that this gun safe is designed to last for decades…this interior makes a huge difference.

Did I mention that the safe does not come with a dehumidifier hole?  Yes, you can add one but I would like to point out that…(and this is my observation of the industry)  That gun safes are tested against fire rating without a dehumidifier hole.  Not one gun safe with a dehumidifier hole has ever past a fire test of any kind for any amount of time.  Stay away from these type of gun safes if you are protecting against fire.  Oh, before I get off the subject of dehumidifier holes.  A new trend in the industry is to add an electrical outlet to the interior of the gun safe.  I personally think that is a really bad idea.  It introduces a source of fire to the inside of the gun safe.  So in theory the interior of the gun safe can completly burn up and the outside is of the safe is fine.  Stay away from the safes that introduce sources of fire to the interior.  Its the dumbest idea and geared toward the consumer that is swayed with bells and whistles and is not using his or her head.

You can rest assured that the Republic Gun Safes are designed and built to the highest of standards and are designed to do what they are intended to do.
